Write for BRW Games™

Write the sort of adventure players will remember for the rest of their lives

BRW Games is actively seeking adventure submissions for the Adventures Dark and Deep™ line. Since Adventures Dark and Deep™ is similar to most Old School games such as 1E, OSRIC, Swords & Wizardry, etc., submissions compatible with those sorts of systems are acceptable. We are not accepting submissions for any other game system at this time (such as Pathfinder or 5E).

If your adventure emphasizes exploration, player choice, memorable locations, and classic fantasy roleplaying, we’d like to hear from you.

The BRW Method

At BRW Games, we believe adventures are places, not stories.

The Dungeon Master presents a living world.

The players create the story.

Great adventures don’t force players down a predetermined path. They reward curiosity, cleverness, and exploration.

If that philosophy resonates with you, you may already be writing the sort of adventures we’re looking for.

We Love Adventures Featuring

  • dungeons
  • wilderness exploration
  • forgotten ruins
  • strange civilizations
  • haunted places
  • sandbox play
  • interesting factions
  • mysteries
  • meaningful choices

We Generally Avoid

  • railroad adventures
  • scripted scenes
  • adventures with only one solution
  • novels disguised as RPG modules
  • NPCs who cannot fail

Submission Guidelines

Submission length: Ideal: 10,000–15,000 words, acceptable: 8,000–18,000 words (if the subject warrants it).

Microsoft Word format (.docx) preferred.

Maps welcome.

All accepted manuscripts and associated maps, etc. will undergo professional editing in collaboration with the author.

Original work only. Manuscripts must be written by the submitting author and may not consist of AI-generated creative content.

Payments are standardized and based on royalties of gross sales. Details will be discussed once we have evaluated your adventure.

Ready to Submit?

Email your completed manuscript to submissions@brwgames.com. We review completed adventures rather than pitches or proposals.

Note: Submission of manuscripts does not constitute a promise by BRW Games to publish, nor does it commit you to anything until the contract is signed. It just starts the process.
